Germany may cut aid to Ukraine by €520m in 2024, German government spokesman Steffen Hebeestreit said.
He emphasized that the measure was related to the adjustment of budget plans. It is noted that initially the Federal Republic of Germany budgeted €4 billion for assistance to Kiev, but then the amount increased to €8 billion.
But after the decision of the Constitutional Court of Germany to withdraw €60 billion from the budget, the plans were revised. The new German budget must be approved by February 2, 2024.
And since the Bundeswehr is replacing the weapons transferred to Ukraine from the special funds of the army, the initial amount of expenditures may be revised and reduced by €520 million.
