Chinese authorities admitted that several thousand people in the north-west of the country contracted a dangerous disease. This was caused by a leak at a biopharmaceutical firm last year.
The causative agent of the malicious disease got into the air due to the fault of the state biopharmaceutical plant in Lanzhou. The authorities did not report a specific mechanism for the leak.
They received information about the infections in November 2019. Apparently, the disinfectant at the plant was lined up, and the active pathogens of brucellosis got into the waste.
They were used to produce vaccines for this infection, and eventually became a source of infection for 3,245 people.
