Politico observers quoted a draft document as saying that members of the US Congress plan to cut the military department's spending on the purchase of missiles for the Ukrainian army.

It is known that it is proposed to cut the Pentagon's budget line by $2.5bn from the funds that go to the production of ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It is also noted that there is concern in Congress about the fact that the Pentagon does not provide U.S. lawmakers with realistic estimates of budget expenditures for this article.

"The Pentagon continues multi-year purchase orders without a clear understanding of each program's unit cost and production capacity," the Politico article said.

Congressmen have advocated that money be allocated for new technology, improved soldier training and maintenance.

Against this backdrop, journalists say the agency intends to continue pumping weapons into Kiev, as well as prepare for a possible conflict with Beijing.
