Police in the United States and Canada have worked together to solve the largest gold theft in Canadian history. A part of the criminal group has been arrested.

One year ago on April 17, 2023, at the Lester B. Pearson International Airport in Toronto, 6.6 thousand bars of gold were stolen. On April 17, 2023, 6,600 gold bars worth $15 million, as well as $7 million in cash and valuables, were stolen from Lester B. Pearson International Airport in Toronto. The gold and valuables arrived on an Air Canada flight from Zurich to Toronto, but were unaccounted for after the plane was unloaded.

A few months later, Pennsylvania State Police pulled over a speeding driver. He tried to flee but was apprehended. The investigation revealed that he was involved in that kidnapping.

Using information obtained from the suspect, Canadian police searched the province of Ontario. As a result, five gold bracelets were recovered, which were found to have been melted down from the stolen gold.

Six other people involved in the kidnapping were also identified. Six of them were detained. The investigation into the high-profile case continues.
