The special regime concerning security in the field of telecommunications and information technology will last until January 23.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Tuesday, January 18, from 23:59, introduced a special regime "due to a potential threat to the security of information and communication systems." The threat level is defined as Alfa-CRP. The cyber threat regime will be in effect until January 23.
"Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki signed a decree introducing the first Alfa-CRP warning level throughout the country," the Polish government said in a statement.
The Alfa mark means that this is the lowest of the four threat levels that can be introduced in the Republic, and the CRP abbreviation means that the threat is in cyberspace. The authorities will strengthen the monitoring of information and communication systems this week.
The Polish government did not specify exactly where the cyber threats come from and what they are.
Earlier, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said that against the backdrop of contacts between American and Russian leaders Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin, there is a decrease in the number of major cyber attacks using ransomware viruses.
