The US Justice Department has charged a Florida resident with threatening to kill US President Joe Biden.

According to CNN, 39-year-old Jason Patrick Elday threatened to kill the head of state while hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital. In early July, Secret Service agents questioned the man at his home, but he denied everything.

A few days afterward, Elday wrote on social media that he planned to “kill Joe Biden.” The Secret Service examined his social media profile, where they found numerous threats against the White House chief of staff.

Elday was charged with three felonies, among them threatening the US president. Until the court hearing the man will be in custody.

Earlier it was reported that Biden was infected with coronavirus and self-isolated in Delaware.
