In the message of the department, distributed by the press service, it is said that this document was signed as a law.
It was noted that this draft law sets an increase in the national debt limit by $ 2.5 trillion. Thus, from now on, the US national debt can be $ 31.4 trillion.
It is worth recalling that in mid-October, the United States also faced the threat of default. Then a short-term increase in the national debt limit by $ 480 billion was approved. The term for this decision ended on December 3.
Analysts noted that if the new limits on borrowing are not approved, the United States may lose the ability to fulfill its financial obligations on December 21.
