Muriel Bowser, Mayor of Washington, DC announced the end of the masking regime on the city's premises starting next Monday, November 22.
She noted that private companies may retain the requirement to wear masks in offices.
Bowser also stressed that the abolition of masks does not apply to public transport and the airport, where PPE still needs to be worn.
