Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing on a two-day visit at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to participate in the high-level international forum "One Belt, One Road" dedicated to the theme "Quality Belt and Road Joint Construction and Joint Efforts to Achieve Shared Development and Prosperity".
The Russian leader's extensive program includes a speech at the opening of the forum, talks with Xi Jinping, as well as bilateral meetings with leaders of other countries that have come to Beijing.
Thus, the Russian leader will meet with Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong, Thai Prime Minister Setthoi Thavisin, Mongolian President Uhnagiin Khurelsukh and Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith today.
The official meeting ceremony with Chinese President Xi Jinping and heads of delegations participating in the One Belt, One Road forum will also take place on October 17.
The main events will be held in the House of People's Assemblies on Tiananmen Square. At the opening of the forum, Putin will address the delegates second, after Xi Jinping.
On Wednesday, Russian-Chinese talks will be held, after which Putin will continue a series of bilateral meetings on the margins of the forum.
Chilean President Gabriel Borich, Kenyan President William Ruto and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban have also arrived in Beijing to participate in the forum.
