The defense budget provides money to «contain Russia».
The draft defense budget for fiscal year 2022 was approved by the U.S. Senate. The budget amounts to approximately $770 billion.
Both chambers of the U.S. legislature agreed on the draft budget, and it was approved by the House of Representatives last week. The document will now be signed by U.S. President Joe Biden, TASS reported.
The budget contains articles on military assistance to Ukraine, and $300 million will be allocated for this purpose. A total of $150 million will be allocated for "security cooperation with the Baltic republics." And $4 billion will be allocated for the program of the European initiative to "contain the Russian Federation."
