According to the WHO weekly epidemiological bulletin, published on February 16, the incidence of coronavirus fell by 19% over the past week. Over this period, more than 16 million people infected with COVID-19 have been identified worldwide.

An increase in the incidence of covid was recorded only in the Western Pacific region (by 19%). In all other regions, a decrease in the number of cases of the disease is observed.

It is reported that the death rate from coronavirus in the world increased by 4%. More than 74 thousand deaths caused by COVID-19 were recorded worldwide in a week. The largest increase in deaths from the consequences of the disease was recorded in the Eastern Mediterranean (by 38%), in the Western Pacific region (by 27%) and in African countries (by 14%). In America and Europe, mortality from covid has not changed much, and in Southeast Asia it has decreased by 9%.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 415.5 million cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the world, more than 5.8 million people have become victims of COVID-19.
