The British King Charles III asked the British Parliament to appoint his brother Prince Edward and his sister Princess Anne as state advisors, reports television channel Sky News.

The statement of the king was read in the House of Lords.

The document notes that Charles III "would be very grateful if his sister and brother could become state advisors" because in case of his illness or being out of the country, Edward and Anne would be able to take over some of his duties.

The state councillors are now the king's wife, Queen Consort Camilla, his younger brother Prince Andrew, niece Princess Beatrice, and nephews Prince William of Wales and Prince Harry.
