Trudeau will announce new Canadian government on October 25

Earlier, Justin Trudeau confirmed that his deputy and head of the Ministry of Finance, Chrystia Freeland, will retain her posts.

CBC television channel, citing its sources, reported on Thursday, October 14, that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will announce Canada's new government on October 25.

Trudeau intends to maintain a gendered approach to appointing heads of ministries, with both men and women getting portfolios equally. The channel noted that a woman could be appointed defense minister, while Singh Sajjan, who had previously headed the ministry, would move on to another job.

New faces are expected to appear in the cabinet.

Recall that Trudeau retained the position of Prime Minister of Canada after the September 20 snap parliamentary elections, in which the Liberal Party won 159 of the 338 seats in the lower chamber.
