Today marks 31 years since the beginning of the military events. Prime Minister Garibashvili honored the memory of those who died during the armed conflict that lasted more than 13 months. He also spoke about the start of the war in Abkhazia as "one of the most tragic events in Georgia's history."
"The consequences of such conflicts remain major challenges for our country and society. We can only respond to them by protecting peace, as well as restoring trust and overall development of the state," Garibashvili clarified.
Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said that Georgia is doing everything to preserve its identity and freedom.
"We are moving on the path that will lead us to the hearts of our brothers. We will be able to heal the wounds of our Motherland," Papuashvili noted in her social networks.
