This year, Georgia's foreign trade increased by 20.1% compared to the same period last year. This information follows from a report on the website of the country's national statistics service "Sakstat".
In January-June this year Georgia imported products worth more than 7 billion US dollars. This is 20.4% more than last year's figures. Exports amounted to 3.1 billion U.S. dollars.
The country's negative trade balance has exceeded four billion dollars since the beginning of this year. Foreign trade turnover in the state last year increased by 32.8% compared to 2021. Moreover, during the reporting period of 2022, Georgia imported products worth more than 13 billion U.S. dollars.
