There is a fear that the new refugees will have to live at the airport without beds, waiting for a tent city to be built in Gormanston.

The Irish Times newspaper, citing its sources, reported on Wednesday, July 13, on the problem of housing new Ukrainian refugees arriving in Ireland. There is no more room at Dublin's largest conference center, Citywest, where asylum seekers are housed.

A tent camp at Gormanston Army Camp will be completed within the next week, but in the meantime, newly arrived Ukrainian citizens may be "stuck at the airport without a bed."

The Citywest center is fully occupied. According to the newspaper, there are more than one thousand people here. So last week more than 1.4 thousand Ukrainians arrived in Ireland, and since the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the total number of Ukrainian refugees received by the country amounted to 40 678 people.

A clear problem with the accommodation of refugees forced the country's authorities to hold a meeting at the Cabinet of Ministers. Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin announced that he would convene ministers on Thursday, July 14.
