Britain's Court of Appeal has dropped murder charges against a man who served 38 years in prison by mistake. It is considered the longest miscarriage of justice in the kingdom's history.

According to the Guardian newspaper, the man's conviction has been overturned.

Peter Sullivan, now 68, was wrongly convicted in 1987 for the murder of a young girl in northwest England. The British man has always denied his guilt. His lawyers tried twice unsuccessfully to overturn the conviction.

New tests ordered by the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) showed that Sullivan's DNA was not in the preserved samples from the crime scene. Traces were found there that belonged to another unidentified male.

Sullivan will be released from prison, ITV reported.

Earlier it was reported that the wedding in Germany ended with mass diarrhea and vomiting.
