The Telegraph: Germany and France discuss gas transit through Ukraine with Russia

Europe has recalled the diversification of supplies from Russia in anticipation of winter.

Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel discussed Ukraine with Vladimir Putin on Monday. During the talks, it emerged that the European Union could buy an emergency supply of gas from Russia in order to reduce the cost of energy. This was reported by The Telegraph.

Earlier, Europe was shaken by record gas prices. Quotations were literally on the rise and updated their records hourly. It even surpassed the record $1,600 per thousand cubic meters. It only went down when Putin suggested that Gazprom might increase its supplies.

Many European media blame Russia for everything: allegedly Gazprom is reducing the volume of fuel supplies in order to achieve certification of Nord Stream 2. After all, prices, as they say in Europe, increased immediately after Gazprom's refusal to book additional volumes of gas transit through Ukraine.
