In Japan, prosecutors have formally charged the assassin of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Tetsuya Yamagami with murder.
According to the Kyodo agency, on January 10, after studying the mental state of Yamagami at the time of the murder, six months later, law enforcement officers decided that the suspect should be prosecuted.
Recall that the former head of the Cabinet of Ministers Abe died in the hospital after an assassination attempt at a campaign event on July 8.
Ex-soldier Yamagami approached the politician from behind and fired his shotgun. He later stated that Abe was connected to a group of people that caused his family financial problems.
