The seven-car cortege left Balmoral Castle, where the queen died, on Sunday, September 11, and traveled to Edinburgh through several cities. Thousands of Scottish residents expressed their gratitude to Elizabeth II by taking to the streets where the motorcade drove.
The coffin carrying the queen's body on Monday, September 12, will be carried in a funeral procession through the main streets of Edinburgh to St. Egidius Cathedral. He will be escorted on foot by Charles III along with Queen Consort Camilla. A service will then take place in the main church of the Scottish Presbyterian Church. After that, the body of Elizabeth II will remain in the church for another 24 hours for farewell.
