Security measures have been stepped up at the EU Court of Justice ahead of a hearing in the case of businessman Abramovich

A group of Ukrainians intends to stage protests against Roman Abramovich in front of the EU court building.

According to the RIA Novosti news agency, lawyers of businessman Roman Abramovich have said that the European Union Court of Justice has decided to tighten security measures before the hearing of the Russian businessman's case. It is noted that this is due to the intentions of a group of Ukrainians to stage protests in front of the court building.

It is known that at the entrance to the building there is a frame-metal detector, there is a search of visitors, whose belongings are checked through an X-ray machine.

In the Court of Justice of the EU will consider the case on the abolition of sanctions restrictions against Roman Abramovich. The lawyers are demanding compensation in the amount of one million euros for moral damages and payment of the costs of legal proceedings.

It is specified that the required million euros will be transferred to a charitable foundation based on the London club Chelsea to help victims of the armed conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that Abramovych did not intend to hand over the money from the sale of the soccer club to the Ukrainian authorities.
