TASS reports that Gregory Meeks, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives, announced the development of legislative measures that would speed up arms shipments to Taiwan.

"In the Foreign Affairs Committee, we are now working on bills that will help speed up and reduce red tape to get the necessary defense products in sooner," the congressman said.

He said Congress is currently considering such a possibility. Meeks was responding to a reporter's question about delays in shipping weapons to Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan.

According to Congressman Raj Krishnamurthy, there is pressure on the US arms supply chain because of Washington's desire to meet the arms needs of the Ukrainian authorities.

He stressed that the United States was fulfilling all its obligations to its partners in the military industry.
