In November, the Austrian authorities decided to introduce compulsory coronavirus vaccination for everyone living in the country. The developed bill provides that those who refuse to get vaccinated since February 2022 will be fined. Spiegel online writes about it.

In this case, the penalty for repeated refusals will be increased. After the first notification from the authorities that the citizen is obliged to get vaccinated and his refusal to get vaccinated, a fine of 3600 euros will be issued. At the same time, there is a “light tariff” of 600 euros, if the anti-vaccine user shows “conscious remorse”, the charge will be dropped.

"If evidence is presented [of vaccination], the procedure will be terminated early," explained the head of the Austrian Ministry of Health Wolfgang Mükstein.

It is worth noting that four out of five parliamentary parties in Austria have already voted for compulsory vaccination. The authorities are going to check the vaccination register of the population every three months.
