At a White House event televised by CNBC Television, the US President Joe Biden found himself in an awkward situation. At a signing ceremony for legislation supporting semiconductor manufacturers, Biden held out his hand in an attempt to say hello to the void.

After his opening remarks, Congressman Chuck Schumer shook hands with White House leader Joe Biden, United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Commerce Department head Gina Raimondo and businessman Joshua Aviv who were on stage.

Biden then extended his hand to shake hands a second time and stood like that for a few seconds.

This is not the first awkward situation for the American president. Previously, Biden confused Syria and Libya in his speeches, called Kamala Harris President, and stumbled on the airplane ramp before flying to Pittsburgh.
