German airline Lufthansa announced the cancellation of about 900 flights due to staff shortages.
In Germany, Lufthansa has canceled about 900 domestic flights due to staff shortages, according to Bloomberg.
"The entire aviation industry, especially in Europe, is currently suffering from staff reductions," Lufthansa said.
According to Bloomberg, the cancelled flights, which were scheduled for all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in July 2022, represent 5 percent of Lufthansa's weekend capacity.
It is noted that this decision was caused by a shortage of staff at airports, air traffic control, as well as ground handling services. Staffing problems, writes the agency, are related to the crisis in the economy, which was caused by a pandemic coronavirus infection.
