The presidential decree was published today.
Citizens of Georgia from May 15 will be free to come to Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin has abolished the visa regime for them. In order to come to Russia, they will only have to present a passport, a sailor's book or a return pass to their home country.
If the citizens of Georgia were sent as employees of the section of interests at the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation, they and their families will have to obtain single-entry visas for three months. After the accreditation to enter Russia, they will no longer need visas.
The possibility of abolishing the visa regime for Georgian citizens was in the talks of the authorities last year. They allowed taking such a decision in case of necessary prerequisites, the Foreign Ministry said.
