Holders of such visas will be able to enter and stay in all Schengen member states for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
In the coming year, starting from April, Romania and Bulgaria will start issuing Schengen short-term visas, Schengenvisainfo reports with reference to information received in the official circles of the European Union.
Holders of such visas get the right to enter all Schengen member states and stay in them up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
It became known what caused such an initiative. This decision is closely connected with the intention of the EU Council to cancel for Romania and Bulgaria the border control within the Schengen zone at sea and air borders since March of this year. At the same time, documentary confirmation of the beginning of issuance of short-term Schengen visas by the two countries has not yet been officially presented.
