Drones will start operating in Wuhan and Chongqing. However, city authorities have limited the range of driverless cars. It is also reported that so far only five cars will enter the routes.

Notably, Baidu along with startup Pony.ai also received a license for driverless cabs in Beijing in April 2022. But the administration of the Chinese capital required the company to have an employee in the vehicle who would be able to intervene in the drone in case of an emergency.
