Boeing again lost a landing gear wheel on takeoff this time at Los Angeles airport

In March this year, a case of a lost wheel occurred with an airliner flying from San Francisco to Tokyo; even earlier, in January, Boeing had to make an emergency landing due to a door that flew off.

Boeing 757-200 of United Airlines during takeoff from Los Angeles airport was left without a landing gear wheel. This was reported by Bloomberg agency.

The incident occurred on July 8. On board the airliner at the time of the incident there were 174 passengers and seven crew members.

The wheel that fell off did not prevent the airliner from continuing its flight to Denver, where the Boeing made a soft landing. None of the occupants of the airplane were injured. A tire from the lost wheel was later found near the takeoff site in Los Angeles.

In recent months, Boeing has repeatedly come under criticism related to the quality of its airplanes. For example, in early January of this year Boeing 737-9 MAX had to make an emergency landing due to a door that flew off. In March, a case with the loss of a wheel occurred with an airliner flying from San Francisco to Tokyo.

All of this forced the airplane company to send about 50 planes for rework due to defects.

The incidents with Boeing, indicative of substandard airplane components, forced the manufacturer to buy its supplier Spirit AeroSystem.
