The alliance is studying the possibility of financing Ukraine with the funds to support the Afghan security forces.
Politico quoted its own sources as saying that the North Atlantic Alliance was considering the possibility of financing the Ukrainian authorities with the funds from the trust fund, which had been intended for supporting security in Afghanistan.
At the moment, the finances of this trust fund are frozen. Previously, it was planned to be spent on arming the Afghan military and necessary equipment.
Most members of the alliance are happy with this option, but some countries are under serious pressure as to how much aid should be provided to Ukraine.
Earlier, the authors of the publication stated that NATO was unable to predict the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ukraine, which makes it difficult to adjust military aid to the Kiev regime.
