CNN, citing data from security firm PaloAlto Networks, writes that foreign hackers are allegedly involved in breaking into nine organizations around the world working in the defense, energy, health, technology and education sectors. At least one of the organizations affected by the hacking is American.
According to Ryan Olson, a spokesman for PaloAlto Networks, criminals could have acquired passwords for long-term access to these networks. Thus, it is possible to intercept confidential information. The company claims that some of the tactics used by the hackers are similar to the "handwriting" of a certain hacker group in the PRC.
