If Donald Trump is elected president, the US could withdraw from NATO, which would be the end for the entire alliance, former Pentagon chief Mark Esper said.
In an interview with MSNBC, he stressed that there will definitely be a withdrawal of troops from NATO member states, and this could eventually lead to the collapse of the entire organization.
According to Esper, this would mark the end of America's hegemony. If that happens, the "rules and norms" established in recent years would also fall apart.
Earlier, because of the uncertainty in Congress regarding support for Ukraine, President Joe Biden issued an address. He urged Congress to approve a request for funds for Kiev. Biden added that Republicans are "shooting Ukraine in the knee" by linking the allocation of new funds to the fulfillment of demands for border and immigration reform.
