Japanese Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura said that US sanctions against Arctic LNG 2 will have an impact on business. Tokyo intends to assess and develop a response so as not to undermine stable energy supplies.
He said the project is important for Japan's stable energy supply, but the sanctions will have some effect.
Nishimura added that Tokyo intends to engage with the G7 for a comprehensive assessment and work out the necessary response so as not to undermine stable energy supplies for the public.
In early November, America imposed sanctions against Arctic LNG 2, Rustitan and two subsidiaries of Gazpromneft.
Recall that more than 100 British companies violated the anti-Russian sanctions.
