Fourteen warships are also on their way to the island
Taiwan's Ministry of Defense reports that at least 20 warplanes and 14 ships are approaching the country as part of China's military exercises.
The defense ministry specified that Chinese military objects have already entered the Taiwanese air defense identification zone. Ten Su-30 fighters, four J-16s and J-11s, a Y-8 electronic reconnaissance aircraft, and a Y-20 aerial refueler were identified among them.
It is specified that all PRC military forces crossed the midline of the Taiwan Strait, which is the border of the island. Taiwan's army authorities warned the crews of the Chinese planes and ships and then deployed air defense systems in their direction.
Recall that China initiated large-scale military exercises on Thursday, August 4, after visiting the island by US Congress Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The exercise involves the waters around Taiwan, through which China intends to block the island.
