Zelensky’s delegation blatantly violated etiquette during visit to Qatar

After criticism on social networks, one of the meeting’s photos was deleted.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's delegation has been accused of grossly violating etiquette during a visit to Qatar.

The Strana.ua website reported that the head of the Ukrainian leader's office, Andriy Yermak, and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba were sitting with their feet up, showing the soles of their shoes, at the reception hosted by the Qatari authorities. In Arab states, this is recognised as a gross insult.

Diplomat Andriy Romaniuk noted that a girl in the delegation also violated etiquette by exposing her knees. "Women in the delegation should wear a pantsuit or a long skirt," he said, noting that the basic rule is to avoid open arms to the elbow and exposed legs above the knee.

Following criticism on social media, one of the photos of the meeting was removed from the presidential office website.
