Sweden and Finland have completed negotiations on joining the North Atlantic Alliance. The Scandinavian countries will sign a protocol on joining NATO on July 5, TASS wrote.
Stockholm and Helsinki concluded membership talks in the military block on Monday, July 4. The two countries reportedly officially confirmed that they are willing and able to fulfill the legal, political and military obligations that membership in the alliance entails.
Recall that the leaders of the alliance at a summit held in Madrid on June 29 officially invited Sweden and Finland to join the military alliance. Turkey initially did not give its consent for these countries to join NATO. But later the countries were able to reach an agreement.
