Shenzhen authorities decided to suspend the activities of offices and retail outlets in the second half of September 1. It's all about typhoon "Saola", which, according to weather forecasters, will hit the city in the southern province of Guangdong. This was reported by the local Department of Emergency Situations.

The typhoon is forecast to affect the coastal city and surrounding areas tonight. However, forecasters say that heavy rain and wind can be expected as early as the afternoon. For this reason, emergency response measures will be in place from 12 noon local time. From four o'clock in the evening, offices and commercial facilities will not work in the city. Moreover, the work of schools and universities has also been suspended since yesterday.

Shenzhen is home to about 18 million people. Due to the approaching typhoon, a "red" warning level has been imposed in southern China. Saola is expected to move northwest at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
