The European Commission has unblocked Poland's access to €137 billion in EU funds, the EC press service said.

According to the EC decision, Poland will receive up to €59.8 billion from the post-pandemic pandemic recovery fund and up to €76.5 billion from the cohesion funds. The first amounts will start to arrive in the coming weeks.

The EU believes that Poland has accomplished two key steps in reforming its judicial system. Namely, it has changed the disciplinary regime for judges and introduced the Arachne browser, which supports the audit systems of EU countries.

In order for the European Commission to unblock money from the EU fund, the Polish parliament updated the Supreme Court Act in January 2023.

Poland will close the border with Ukraine if Warsaw's demands are not heard in Brussels and Kiev, the country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said.
