A serious reason for Russians' reorientation towards alternative vacation destinations was a sharp rise in prices. Now, in addition to the UAE, Greece, Vietnam, Thailand and Egypt are gaining in popularity.
Due to the rise in prices for vacations in Turkey, more and more tourists are interested in finding alternative vacation destinations. One of the unexpected competitors turned out to be the UAE and Egypt. Some Russians are going on vacation to Europe, despite the sanctions and related difficulties.
The head of the “Alliance of Travel Agencies” Andrei Gavrilov said that the main reason for this change of course were the prices. Now Russian resorts do not seem so expensive, and in the Emirates tourist operators offer summer vacations at a discount. This is reported by the publication “Turprom”.
Gavrilov also noted that the high cost of rest is caused by the fact that the Central Bank exchange rate may differ markedly from the one at which Russians pay travel agencies. And the change is not in favor of customers.
