Etihad Airways, a well-known air carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has launched direct flights from Abu Dhabi to St. Petersburg.
The opening of this route took place on October 29, said Asiyat Halvashi, Director of Aviation Commerce of the Northern Capital's Air Gateway Company. She also noted an increase in demand for the direction to Dubai, which grew by 70% compared to last year, and for the direction to Egypt - by 55%. The demand for the flights is expected to increase to 100%.
Etihad Airways will operate flights between St. Petersburg and Abu Dhabi on Boeing-787 Dreamliner airplanes three times a week in both directions.
