More than 1 million trips were made by Russians from Moscow to St. Petersburg over the year.
The head of the capital's tourism committee Ekaterina Pronicheva said at an online press conference in TASS that in 2021 there were more than 1 million trips from Moscow to St. Petersburg. According to her, people mostly traveled to visit friends and relatives.
She specified that in 2020 such trips amounted to 830 thousand. "If you look at the statistics of mutual tourist flows, you can find that residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg traditionally travel a lot to visit each other," - said Pronicheva.
She added that Muscovites traditionally come to St. Petersburg to go to theaters or exhibitions.
