At least this part of the region's tourism industry has shown significant growth compared to last year. But prices for vacations in the Polar Region remain quite high.
Murmanskstat reported that 492 thousand vacationers spent 2.5 billion rubles on hotels in the Kola Polar Region. Compared to last year, this is a significant growth. In 2023, 360 thousand people stayed in the hotels of the region. But most of the vacationers stay in hotels for no more than 4 days.
In total, last year the region received 670 thousand vacationers who spent a total of about 16 billion rubles. This statistic takes into account both Russians and guests from other countries. But this data is not entirely accurate, as the line between apartments and mini-hotels is very thin.
Earlier it was reported that only very wealthy Russians with incomes above average can afford to vacation in the Murmansk region.
The Kaliningrad region stated that the increased spending of tourists in the region is not related to inflation and price growth.
