Where you can go only with the cruise company

Some parts of the world remain inaccessible to independent travelers. Cruise companies open doors to places closed to ordinary tourists.

Cruise companies offer access to unique territories where it is impossible to go on your own. For example, private islands in the Caribbean such as Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at Coco Cay are open exclusively to specific liner passengers. Here tourists are waiting for exclusive beaches, water parks and services on the system «everything is included».

The North Pole is another direction available only in expedition cruises. The Russian atomic icebreaker «50 years of Victory» and the French Le Commandant Charcot deliver travelers to ice spaces where they can land on zodiacs and observe arctic animals. Antarctica, although accessible by plane, is more often explored from cruise ships departing from Ushuaia or Cape Town.

Chukotka and Baikal are also on the list of locations where cruising is the only option for a full trip. Scientific research vessels «Professor Chromov» and «Academician Shokalsky» conduct expeditions to the island of Wrangel and the bays of Baikal, inaccessible to conventional transport. With increasing restrictions on mass tourism such routes are becoming more popular.
