In 2023, Russian tourists are less likely to vacation within the country. Travel planning service OneTwoTrip found out where its customers preferred to spend their vacations in the first half of this year.
It is noted that Russia accounted for 75% of all hotel bookings, with their share decreased by almost 12% compared to the first half of 2022. But the choice of foreign resorts Russians have chosen to vacation at 67.8%.
So, travelers often stayed in hotels in Moscow, the share of which amounted to 25.6% of the total number of orders, which is 5% more compared to last year.
The second most popular was St. Petersburg, where in the first half of 2023 stayed more than 15% of Russians, which is 7.6% less than in 2022. Sochi came in third place with a share of 6.7%. Over the year, the resort's popularity grew by 4.7%.
It is worth noting that among foreign tourist destinations Istanbul has become the most popular: according to the results of the first half of the year there is more than 11% of the total number of orders.
Second place in the ranking was Dubai (6.0%). The third most popular foreign city is Minsk with the share of 4.2%.
Earlier it was reported that Kaliningrad and Kazan were the safest tourist cities for tourists.
