Thailand will open Phuket to foreign tourists since October 1

Thai authorities decided to lift the ban on tourists visiting the island of Phuket. However, there are strict requirements for arrivals.

The head of the National Tourism Authority of Thailand, Yuthasak Supasorn, said that since October 1, foreign tourists can relax in Phuket. It is reported by Reuters.

Tourists are allowed to arrive only in Phuket. Entry through other airports is impossible. The minimum stay is 30 days. For the first two weeks, vacationers must observe quarantine at the hotel. Along with testing for COVID-19, this is a mandatory requirement for the entrance. In some hotels, during quarantine, they will be able to move around the hotel and go to the beach.

Analysts predict the flights between Thailand and Russia will not resume until the end of 2020.

The opening of Phuket is the first step in testing the project "Tourist Bubbles," which we wrote about earlier.
