Egypt became one of the most popular destinations for Russians last year

Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has clarified the number of Russians visiting the country in 2023.

According to Za Rulem, 1.5 million Russians visited the African coast last holiday season. This is the second result among all foreign visitors.

This result was possible thanks to several factors at once:

• Affordable price of holidays;
• A wide range of services;
• Historical sights;
• Active holidays;
• High level of security.

Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Isa hopes for an increase in the number of Russians who will visit the country during the summer period. Cairo is doing its best to improve tourist services.

In total, Egypt was visited by about 14.9 million tourists from Germany, Great Britain, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia and Russia. The authorities are ready to increase this figure to 30 million people by 2028.

Earlier it became known that Russia ranked third in tourist traffic to Thailand since the beginning of the year.
