Derbent's Tourism Development Center has begun developing a mobile application in five languages with an audio guide function. Tourists will have access to information in English, Chinese, Arabic, Farsi and Russian.
The app has several sections: cultural monuments, historical sites, parks, squares, souvenir stores, guest houses and hotels, cafes and restaurants. There are plans to include information on the history of the city, important events and prominent Derbent residents, Derbent News reported.
The application uses GPS technology, which automatically detects the position of a tourist. The app offers the user popular routes and travel guides.
