Before the pandemic, up to 70,000 travelers per year visited the country.

During this time, Bhutan has changed the rules for entering the country. Thus, almost tripled the cost of a one-time tax per guest, which previously cost $65, and now $200.

But travelers now do not have to buy a minimum package tour from a tour operator accredited by the Ministry of Tourism of Bhutan. Under the new rules, vacationers will be able to contact providers directly.

By the way, one of the main attractions of Bhutan is considered a monastery "Tigress's Nest" (Taktsang-lakhang), located on a cliff over 3000 meters high.
