More than 1.5 million Russians have visited Thailand in the past year.
Residents of Thailand have become increasingly dissatisfied with the stay of Russian migrants in the country. Thus, over the past year, Thailand was visited by about one and a half million Russians who stayed there for an average of 20 days. Of course, Russian tourists bring a lot of money to the country's economy.
But the migrants who come to the country to live have become a nuisance to the locals. They not only have holidays there, but also work, get long-term visas, buy property and start doing business. Moreover, most of all Russians are engaged in resort business and thus take away work from the locals.
The Thais are afraid that because of the Russians they will lose their jobs and therefore tensions arise between them.
