Paid entrances for tourists to Venice turned out to be an ineffective measure to limit the flow of visitors.

The number of tourists increased by 5 thousand people compared to the previous year, reaching 75 thousand in one day.

The city council recognized that the paid entry did not help reduce the influx of tourists and called it “useless and harmful”.

The mayor of Venice said they will continue to look for a solution to the problem, but there are no concrete plans yet.

Since April this year, day-trippers have been charged a fee of 5 euros, “tickets” can be bought both online and at the main entry points, checked by special controllers.

Venice and its inhabitants are suffering social devastation.

Tourism is literally kicking them out of their homes. There are whole neighborhoods that have been emptied of Venetians for the sake of renting to tourists.

If this trend continues, then with mathematical certainty we can say that the city will die, writes “Turprom”.
